Before you launch an AI voice agent: a seven-point checklist
· 1 min read
Voice agents can answer every call, but only if you set them up to succeed. Use this checklist before launch.
1. Define the jobs
List the three to five call types the agent will handle, such as booking, status checks and lead qualification. Anything outside that list should transfer to a person.
2. Write for the ear
Short sentences, one question at a time, and confirmations for names, dates and numbers.
3. Plan the human handoff
Decide when the agent transfers, to whom, and what context is passed along so callers never repeat themselves.
4. Disclose and respect consent
Tell callers they are speaking with an AI, follow local call-recording rules and honour do-not-call lists on outbound campaigns.
5. Cover your languages
If your callers speak English and Urdu, test both with real accents and mixed-language sentences.
6. Connect the systems
Calendar, CRM and ticketing should be updated during the call, not after it.
7. Measure and review
Track containment, bookings, transfers and caller satisfaction, and review recordings weekly for the first month.
